Our web site is designed to give you an insight into the work of Arthurshiel Rescue Centre,at St Boswells in the Scottish Borders.

On behalf of the Scottish Borders Council the centre takes in all the stray dogs found within the Borders Region boundaries,a huge area, as well as unwanted pets from the general public.

In any year the centre will re home around 500 dogs and many other animals and birds as varied as the pets people keep.

There is also an aviary where many wild birds are nursed back to health and which is a great attraction for visiting children.

All of this is done without any grants or financial assistance other than by our own fund raising efforts and the generosity of the animal loving public.

The Centre is recognised as a training facility and often has students from various organisations and countries who help to train the many dogs before they go to new homes.

As well as the re homing aspect the centre also has a high quality cat boarding establishment in a lovely secluded orchard where a  thermally insulated building with outside runs attached is provided.

Various advanced health treatments are available.  Please follow this link to “Health Treatments

Found ---- Glendearg Galashiels, someone must know if they have lost this very energetic spaniel x collie dog, he is so full of life and has a brown leather collar.

This is the spring , summer and autumn play area, the snow was just too much

We thank the Border Beasties in Peebles who have raised £95 to help replace.

It was build in memory of the late Maisie Walker from Peebles and the late Deans Henderson of Selkirk.

Hopefully by the spring the roof will be back where it belongs and the dogs will be able to get out again.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated
